Celebrate the Holiday Season with Wave Hill’s December Programs

This holiday season, find delight in all that nature has to offer—from elegant boughs of green to sparkling snow. Whether you prefer to create nature-themed crafts, listen to masterful holiday music, or you long to stroll through the wintry gardens, Wave Hill’s serene winter landscape and abundance of holiday programs are sure to bring you joy.

Give yourself the gift of creativity during Holiday Workshop Weekend. Learn how to fashion miniature arrangements from natural materials, craft a holiday wreath or swag with fresh greens harvested from Wave Hill’s gardens, or carve and print your own nature-inspired, linocut holiday cards. Later in December, indulge your senses with delicious treats and tea at the Holiday Tea in The Café at Wave Hill.

Families will fall for four, holiday-themed Family Art Projects, each drawing from the beauty of nature in wintertime. On Saturdays and Sundays in December, bring little ones to decorate cards, candles and snow-globe gift boxes with natural materials and images. Then, say hello to 2015 by creating a lunar calendar for the year to come! Continue the family fun with the Winter Adornments Family Walk—join naturalist and educator Gabriel Willow for a walk through the gardens and woodlands, and investigate a host of vibrant berries, colorful twigs and fascinating patterns.

Round out the festivities with a dazzling performance by pianists Soyeon Kate Lee and Ran Dank. Already Wave Hill favorites, the two pianists return to Armor Hall to share the wonder of the holidays with a four-hand arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s beloved Nutcracker Suite.

Events are free with admission to the grounds unless otherwise stated.
