Enchanted Wave Hill Weekend, October 18 & 19
There’s magic in the Bronx! On this enchanted October weekend, allow the beauty of the autumnal landscape to captivate your imagination—and discover the magic within yourself! Bring your little fairies and gnomes to venture into Wave Hill’s enchanting woodlands, and join them in creating tiny, fairy-sized dwellings and magical wands using found sticks, leaves and bark. As you delight in the autumn colors, listen to entrancing fairy tales read by storyteller Rama Mandel, and enjoy a live, sparkling soundscape provided by The Metropolitan Four flute quartet. Enchanted Wave Hill Weekend programs take place Saturday and Sunday. All Enchanted Wave Hill Weekend events are free with admission to the grounds.

Time: Family Art Project: Fairy Wands and Tiny Houses, 10AM–1PM
Put some of nature’s sparkle into your own magic wand. Listen to fairy stories and then venture into Wave Hill’s enchanted woodlands. Fashion sticks, leaves and bark into a tiny fairy-sized dwelling as part of a charmed forest metropolis.
Live Music: The Metropolitan Four, flute quartet, starting at 11AM
The Metropolitan Four is a New York based ensemble of flutists from diverse backgrounds. Its members are Tyler Menzel, Julian Rose, Felipe Tristan and Emily Wespiser. During Enchanted Wave Hill Weekend, the adventurous young group performs a range of enchanting works—from Greensleeves and Pachelbel’s Canon to themes from family-friendly films—that perfectly complement the magical tone of the weekend.
The Family Art Project is generously sponsored by Target, with additional support provided by the National Endowment for the Arts. Sustaining support is provided by the Sally and Gilbert Kerlin Endowment for Environmental Science and Nature Education. Wave Hill, Inc. is an independent, non-profit cultural institution governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The buildings and grounds of Wave Hill are owned by the City of New York. With the assistance of the Bronx Borough President and Bronx representatives in the City Council and State Legislature, Wave Hill’s operations are supported with public funds through the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs; the Zoos, Botanical Gardens and Aquariums Grant Program administered by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation; the National Endowment for the Arts; the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation; and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
