Owl Presentation: Raptors of the Night
Sunday, January 5, 1:30PM
Bronx, NY, December 23, 2013―Take an afternoon to discover how owls adapt to life in the forest and the city. Find out whoo’s whoo in your neighborhood with Carl Heitmuller, an environmental educator from the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, and meet a live owl from the museum’s collection! Ages six and older welcome with an adult.
A special Family Art Project Saturday and Sunday morning also focuses on our feathered friends: At “Owl Takes Flight,” a Wave Hill educator reads Native American stories. Then families create their own wingspan with feathers you can wear, and participate in an owl pow-wow.
Both events are free with admission to the grounds, but registration is recommended for the owl presentation, online, onsite at the Perkins Visitor Center or by calling 718.549.3200 x251.
