Wave Hill Welcomes a Summer Full of Sunset Wednesdays
This summer, during the Bronx’s festive centennial year, transport yourself to a lush, summer oasis where the breezes blowing off the Hudson pair perfectly with opportunities to relax in one of the loveliest green spaces New York City has to offer. Beginning in July, make your way to Wave Hill on Wednesday evenings for an experience unlike any other.
Unwind with outdoor yoga, take a guided stroll through the gardens, enjoy free music on the Great Lawn, visit the Gregory Crewdson: Fireflies exhibition of photographs in Glyndor Gallery—or simply put your feet up and take in the summer sun setting over the Palisades.
Performances by Bronx musicians enliven the first six Wednesdays. The last Wednesday, on August 13, celebrates the 30th anniversary of Dancing in the Streets with Dancing Through the Bronx, a festival of performances that engages the diverse neighborhoods of the Bronx.
Relax over supper on the Kate French Terrace of historic Wave Hill House, or on the Great Lawn, overlooking the majestic Hudson River and Palisades. The Café will offer light entrees and each week a chef’s specialty as well as boxed suppers that must be reserved by noon of the Monday before Sunset Wednesday.
