Listing for the rapidly growing gaming company Mr Green– Brand new casino concept behind rapid growth
Through the investment company Mr Green & Co AB, the wholly owned and rapidly growing Malta-based online casino Mr Green will be listed on AktieTorget. Since its launch in 2008, Mr Green has posted annual growth in excess of 70 percent and a game win for 2012 of about SEK 319 million. The corresponding figure for the first quarter of 2013 was SEK 109 million. Trading in the shares will start on Friday, 28 June on AktieTorget (ticker: MRG). The share has a healthy ownership spread following the distribution to its own shareholders by the then major shareholder, the risk capital company Transferator AB, of its entire holding in Mr Green & Co.
The online casino Mr Green was founded in 2008 by the three childhood friends: Fredrik Sidfalk, Henrik Bergquist and Mikael Pawlo. The idea was to create an online casino with a completely new concept – to provide an ambiance equivalent to stepping in to Monte Carlo’s famous casino. This was achieved through graphic design to create an environment that engendered a brand new ambiance and to create a brand previously unseen in the gaming world. Today, Mr Green is one of the most rapidly growing companies in the industry and has approximately 130 employees.

Interest among gamers is also reflected in the company’s accounts. For the last financial year, 2012, Mr Green reported earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of SEK 47.0 million. For the first quarter of 2013, the company posted a pro forma EBITDA of SEK 24.6 million. The company’s policy is to distribute up to 50 percent of the free cash flow to shareholders.
Currently, visitors can choose between about 200 games which are available in seven languages. Since its start, Mr Green has amassed about 660,000 registered customers, and the site is also available for gaming via tablets and smartphones.
The company also strives to enhance the gaming experience via these channels. In addition, Mr Green & Co has a development portfolio of other gaming products in this sector.
Mr Green & Co has a wide ownership base since one of the original investors – Transferator – distributed its entire shareholding to its shareholders in May. The number of shareholders in Mr Green currently amounts to about 800. Major shareholders include Fredrik Sidfalk (17.3%), Henrik Bergquist (18.8%), Hans Fajerson (18.5%) and Mikael Pawlo (5.6%).
The online casino Mr Green has won plaudits from independent sources and received a number of prizes for its innovative thinking. Among other achievements, Mr Green has been the highest ranked online casino for five years in the Swedish magazine Internetworld’s ranking of Sweden’s top 100 sites. In addition, Mr Green received the award of Socially Responsible Operator of the Year 2012 from the UK publication, E-Gaming Review and Casino Operator of the Year 2013 at the International Gaming Awards gala in London.
