Freshly Squeezed – big performance refrigeration for compact kitchens
Williams develops Small Kitchen range.
Operators are reducing space inside the kitchen, so as to have more room outside the kitchen for tables, chairs and paying customers. There are big challenges for anyone designing a compact kitchen – fitting in the needs of the workflow, services and equipment is a precise balancing act. Now Williams has developed the Small Kitchen range – a choice of products that are compact but deliver the same performance as the standard versions.
As well as being compact, the range is designed to be as flexible as possible, with many models suiting a variety of applications. “We have designed the Small Kitchen range to help operators maximise the efficiency of their kitchen - whatever its size,” says Martin Laws, marketing manager at Williams. “For example, the PrepWell and Thermowell refrigerated ingredients units are equally suited to pizza, salad or sandwich preparation, for jacket potato fillings and for a host of other tasks.”
Some of the products in the range are adaptions of standard models, such as the Jade Slimline counters. These have all the features of the standard range, but with a reduced depth of just 500mm, making them an ideal compact alternative. Others, like the PW4 Mobile Prep Well, have been developed specifically for small kitchens. The PW4 can fit into kitchens that don’t have room for a conventional prep station, as it can be moved around to wherever it is needed, ensuring fresh ingredients are always on hand.
Williams’ Thermowell is a countertop refrigerated ingredients store. The latest model in the range, the TW4, is a mini-version with storage for four 1/6GN pans. Compact enough to fit onto any available worktop area, it can also be wall mounted to free up even more space.
Blast Chillers are often thought of as the preserve of big kitchens, but the Williams WBC10 blast chiller is compact enough to fit in the same space as a standard undercounter cabinet, helping small kitchens comply with food safety without sacrificing workspace.
Williams has produced a Guide to Refrigeration for Small Kitchens. It’s a useful reference for anyone designing, specifying or working in a compact kitchen. The company has also produced a dedicated Small Kitchen brochure, which covers the product range. Both are available free on request and as downloads from williams-refigeration.co.uk.
Williams Refrigeration offers a comprehensive range of commercial refrigeration including gastronorm cabinets and counters, specialist bakery equipment, coldrooms, merchandisers and blast chillers.
