Winterhalter at The Main Event, LACA conference and exhibition

Hilton Birmingham Metropole, 8th-10th July 2015

Innovative systems mean the latest warewasher from market leader Winterhalter is faster and saves energy compared to conventional models, yet it delivers the best ever cleaning results. With speed, running costs and quality being essential when it comes to warewashing in schools, the award-winning Winterhalter PT Series of passthrough warewashers is sure to impress at this year’s LACA Main Event.

Visitors to the Winterhalter stand will be able to see specially designed exhibition version of the PT machine, which illustrates exactly how the patented full-flow filtration system works to constantly keep the wash water fresh and clean.

The PT has a clever way of managing the energy which reduces the cleaning time for each wash cycle, effectively increasing the rack capacity by up to 28% per hour and reducing heat-up time by 50%. It works by making best use of the available power – for example, by prioritising heating of water, it ensures the boiler has maximum power when it needs it. However, in standby mode it allows the boiler temperature to reduce to minimise energy consumption. The speed of the system means the PT is ready for action faster than conventional passthroughs, allowing back-to-back rack washing, which will be a huge bonus for busy school kitchens.

Another technological ‘first’ is that the PT Series is the only commercial warewasher with energy-saving heat exchanger technology fitted as standard.  The system extracts energy from the waste water, using it to heat up the incoming cold water supply, reducing the machine’s carbon footprint and cutting energy costs by up to 10%.

Despite its speed and energy efficiency, the PT also delivers the best ever cleaning results.  This is thanks to elliptical wash arms whose jets are individually formed, sized, positioned and angled to deliver 100% coverage, even into the wash cabinet corners, achieving high pressure washing of heavily soiled items.  In combination with the PT’s other new hygiene systems, the wash arms improve the brilliance of cleaning results by up to 29%.

Also on the stand will be a Winterhalter UC machine, perfect for smaller schools. The UC Series models are easy to operate. Users simply push the start button. However they can also easily adjust the cleaning programme to suit different items and degree of soiling by selecting the relevant symbols on the control panel - the machine does the rest, automatically adjusting the jet pressure, time, detergent dosing and temperature of the wash.

Winterhalter provides a total solution for warewashing, from pre-sales advice to after-sales service, training and maintenance. Alongside its market-leading dish and glasswashers, the company’s range includes utensil washers, advanced water treatment machines, cleaning chemicals and detergents.
