The Swedish West End and Broadway star Peter Jöback releases the official Swedish Pride Anthem 2025, “The Spectrum of Love” – out now on Spotify and Apple Music.
One of Sweden’s most beloved artists and a celebrated name on both the West End and Broadway, Peter Jöback, releases this year’s official Pride anthem for Stockholm Pride – The Spectrum of Love. Known to London audiences for his acclaimed performances in Miss Saigon (1997), The Witches of Eastwick (2000), The Phantom of the Opera (2012), and Les Misérables (2018), Peter is a familiar face on the British musical theatre scene.
The song is co-written by Peter together with British songwriters Ed Harcourt and Kathryn Williams, the same creative trio behind his critically acclaimed album Atlas.
To create a modern dance and arena anthem, super-producer Svidden (Jimmy Koitzsch) joined the team. Svidden has previously worked with international stars such as Galantis, Miike Snow, Hilary Duff, and Adam Lambert. Along with Harcourt – who has collaborated with Paloma Faith, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and James Bay – they elevate the song to new musical heights.
– If you could go back in time and tell your younger self that you will make it, that there is a community of people just like you who will accept and support you, this is the song you would sing. It is also written so that people outside of the LGBTQIA+ community can relate to that feeling. It’s about seeing the beauty and authenticity in your heart and daring to let it shine. For me, this song is a way to give hope to anyone feeling lost or afraid – a promise that you are not alone, says Peter Jöback.
Peter on the collaboration and the honor of writing this year’s Pride anthem:
– I am incredibly proud and happy to have been given the honor of writing this year’s Pride song. To work again with my creative partners Ed and Kathryn, and now with Svidden as producer, has given our music a new color. I am passionate about collaborations, and this has been a fantastic one – for a cause that means everything to me. I hope this song will reach the people who need it the most.
The Spectrum of Love represents protection and love for all people but also serves as a symbolic umbrella for those who are vulnerable – a shield against danger, hatred, and prejudice. It is a message to anyone feeling anxious or lost: there is a safe place where you can be yourself, where you are accepted and held. There is hope.
The song had its exclusive live premiere on 14 July during HRH Crown Princess Victoria’s 48th birthday celebrations at Borgholm Castle ruins, on the island of Öland – an event broadcast live on Sweden’s national television, SVT – where Peter performed the song for the very first time. During Stockholm Pride (30 July – 3 August), Peter will perform The Spectrum of Love several times in Pride Park.
