Editors’ Notes

The Yorkshire Rural Support Network was established 15 years ago to raise awareness of the issues associated with stress and provide information on the help available. It has an extensive group of members drawn from the voluntary, public and charitable sectors. Its work has evolved to encompass practical and proactive initiatives, for example producing the Fit for Farming booklet - a guide to rural health, the Next Generation Succession Planning events which examine ways of handing on the farming business and most recently, The Farming Ladder, which highlights options open to those wanting to step into, or away from a farming career. The Network is supported by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and is based at the Regional Agricultural Centre, Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
