COVID-19: A letter from the CHRO to all employees

Dear #teamZalaris,

You matter – more than ever

Just when we thought we had seen the light at the end of the tunnel in June, when many countries opened their borders to welcome back tourists and trade, we all had our spirits lifted and our hopes renewed. Now it looks like Covid-19 is here to stay for a while, with more countries now implementing stricter regimes to combat the second wave. 

This is a time like no other in our lives. The Covid-19 pandemic continues to produce uncertainty and we are all navigating through it the best way we can. In times like these, every individual matters and YOU matter - more than ever! We need to help each other in lifting our spirits to get through these difficult times together. Over the course of 20 years we have combatted challenging situations, and we are convinced that we will overcome this one too.

Since the lockdown in March, and the sudden implementation of home office across our borders, we have been listening to your feedback through the Covid-19 survey, in which your main concerns are:

Zalaris’ business and financial performance during a global pandemic

 I understand that this is a huge concern among many of you. We are still unable to see the end of this situation, which makes it hard for us to know the final effect. I would encourage you to follow our quarterly updates to the market, where CEO Hans-Petter Mellerud and CFO Gunnar Manum present our financial results. The Q2 results were recently presented and the response from the market was very positive. Find more information on the Intranet or the Investor Relations pages on our website. 

Your colleagues’ code of conduct, to ensure the health and safety for the rest of #teamZalaris

 Your commitment these days makes all the difference. I urge you to be responsible and comply with the precautionary measures to prevent situations that could affect #teamZalaris or members of our families in health risk zones. Your health is our health!

The team spirit of #teamZalaris is more important than ever. We need to stand together and support each other to safeguard our jobs and colleagues’:

• Health by being strict and following recommended health regimes by local authorities
• Productivity and performance by delivering what we promise on time
• Wellbeing by being thoughtful and concerned about your colleagues’ situation, especially if you know someone who lives alone and might feel isolated, lonely or afraid. 

What we do now not only impacts ourselves and our families, it is time to realise and recognise that it also impacts our colleagues, our company and our society and its economy. Zalaris’ Management will continue to constantly review the situation and discuss the best solutions together with local management. If you have any concerns regarding your own safety, we urge you to reach out to your direct manager and continue to report it anonymously through our regular Covid-19 follow-up surveys which will be continued. 

Everyone matters because everyone has an equally important role to play because we are all connected now more than ever.
