The five year agreement is the largest outsourcing deal for Zalaris in Norway as well as one of the ever largest signed outsourcing deals in Norway. The contract positions Zalaris as one of the largest outsourcers of payroll and HR Outsourcing (HRO) in the Nordic region.

The agreement consists of two parts. First, an acquisition of Hydro’s CBS unit and second a five year agreement to provide Hydro with transactional HR services as payroll administration, travel expense processing, time and attendance including sick leave refund processing to Hydro’s 5700 employees and 9500 pensioners in Norway.

As a part of the agreement, 20 staff will transfer to Zalaris from Hydro. The new colleagues represent an important resource for Zalaris. The transferred staff is primarily located at Karmøy and Notodden.

The agreement was negotiated as a result of a competitive tender process.

"We are proud to be selected as Hydro’s HRO partner. This is an important agreement for us. It is a sign that our strategy to become the leading Nordic supplier of full service HR services is a success. We are approaching an important milestone of serving more than 100’000 managers and employees with full service HRO and payroll services on a monthly basis" says Hans-Petter Mellerud, Zalaris CEO.

It is a communicated part of Hydro’s strategy to downsize internal support organizations and focus on core business.

"Through outsourcing payroll and transactional HR to Zalaris, we will better be able to focus on our core business. At the same time we will achieve significant savings. Simultaneously, we ensure that our staff joins a trusted employer that will build on their competency" says Anne Harris, Hydro’s HR Director.
