As Norwegian Railways (NSB) separates some of its subsidiaries in conjunction with reforms in progress, decision makers continue to steer toward Zalaris on the HR/payroll front. Zalaris will deliver corresponding services to approximately 1 250 employees in three of the designated companies.

The NSB moves reflect the organization’s strong confidence in Zalaris as well as the versatility and dependability of Zalaris HR and payroll solutions, increasingly deployed across multiple industries and much of northern Europe today.

“It’s an honor to support NSB’s needs in this capacity,” commented CEO and founder of Zalaris, Hans-Petter Mellerud.

Important milestone
NSB’s reorganization includes outsourcing HR and payroll services to Zalaris for the three separated companies Mantena AS, Materiellselskapet AS and EnTur AS, signifying yet another major milestone: It’s the first time a state-owned entity has entered a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) agreement with Zalaris.

“Our HR and payroll expertise, solutions and services represent compelling reasons to choose Zalaris,” Mellerud underscored.

Outsourcing creates new value opportunities for public sector according to Mellerud, noting that outsourcing often gives state-owned companies new advantages.

“The bottom line, besides cost advantages, comes down to better performance and predictable resource management – regardless of industry variables such as market price fluctuations, for example.”

Strengthens local presence
Zalaris’ support for the new agreement includes resources at the company’s service center in Lødingen in Vesterålen, established in 2001 and now an important provider of IT related jobs in the local community. The services include payroll, time, expenses, absence and reporting. As part of the new agreement, Zalaris will also employ three NSB employees in Oslo, where Zalaris is based.

Zalaris will deliver “extended HR services” to some of the NSB operations in the near term, ranging from digital archives to absence follow-up for managers. All the new companies will have access to Zalaris’ mobile app for all basic services.

“These are the core competencies that differentiate us while enabling our clients to focus on what they’re expected to do best. We look forward to our journey with the new companies NSB is forming. It’s an exciting juncture in our overall evolution in both private and public sectors.”
