For the 11th year in a row, Zalaris Lofoten Insomnia Race takes place in Lofoten - in the northern Norway. Following 235 kilometers along some of Norway’s most beautiful places in Lofoten, the riders will cross the finish line in Lødingen.

"The ride is a fantastic experience every time and I look forward to sharing it with great colleagues and fellow riders. Ending up in Lødingen is special to Zalaris as we opened our first office here", says Hans-Petter Mellerud, CEO of Zalaris.

Over 350 bicycle riders are registered for the race which kicks off midnight Friday-Saturday this weekend.

AKTIV Against Cancer
Mellerud also hopes the race will be of importance to others. Therefore, Zalaris initiated a fundraising for AKTIV Against Cancer. The goal is to deliver a check to AKTIV Against Cancer at Gaustatoppen 4th of August, where Team Zalaris will cheer CEO Hans-Petter Mellerud to the finish line of Isklar Norseman Xtreme Triathlon.

"Norseman will be far out of my comfort zone, but I will use the opportunity to raise money to AKTIV Against Cancer. I encourage all other riders to challenge their friends to contribute to the fight against cancer," says Mellerud.

Everybody can contribute to the campaign through the campaign site: http://innsamling.aktivmotkreft.no/zalaris/16-796

About the campaign
Zalaris and AKTIV Against Cancer have partnered for more than five years based on a shared belief: Physical activity can have restorative healing effects. AKTIV Against Cancer has worked since 2007 to establish physical activity as part of cancer treatment. Join Zalaris as well in this conviction to reducing the side effects of other treatments and helping to build strength, energy and confidence for patients throughout Norway, the United States and Ethiopia.

Team Zalaris is now challenging everyone to participate in fundraising for AKTIV Against Cancer. The goal is to deliver a check to AKTIV Against Cancer at Gaustatoppen on 4th of August 2018, where Team Zalaris will cheer CEO Hans-Petter Mellerud to the finish line of Isklar Norseman Xtreme Triathlon – a challenge he accepted as the winner of EY Entrepreneur of the Year Norway. We are aiming high — literally and figuratively — but we will make it together!

Set big exercise goals this summer while supporting a great cause! The money raised will go toward building more AKTIV Against Cancer physical activity centers called Pusterom (“Breathing Rooms”) in hospitals throughout Norway, where courageous patients perform physical activity despite serious diagnoses.
Let’s outrun (and outbike! and outswim!) cancer together.
