Ben Hammersley, Duena Blomstrom, Björn Zoëga, Patricia Florissi, Hilmar Veigar Pétursson will be the keynote speakers at the 2019 Advania Fall Conference.

Digital transformation and disruptive technologies call for new ways to perform jobs in all aspects of our society. This is why we chose “Expertise for changing times” as the theme for this year‘s conference.

The conference features sessions from close to 50 speakers who will share their experience and talk about the main challenges and opportunities that modern IT brings.

Two of the conference main speakers are Ben Hammersley and Duena Blomstrom who have garnered attention from all over the world for their work.

Ben Hammersley is considered to be one of the world’s leading futurists. He has years of experience as an internet technologist, journalist and a strategy consultant for enterprises and governments. He will discuss innovation and the key aspects that will help individuals and companies to gain their footing in the ever-changing corporate future.

Duena Blomstrom is known for her concept “emotional banking” that revolves around FinTech and how the banking industry needs to be rethought with the needs of consumers in mind. She wrote a book on the subject in which she contemplates whether banks care about the needs of consumers, and if they’ll ever be able to become companies that are loved by people.

Björn Zoëga, Patricia Florissi and Hilmar Veigar Pétursson are also keynote speakers at the conference.

Björn Zoëga is the former CEO of The National University Hospital of Iceland. He is now the CEO of Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden. Björn will cover culture, technology and managerial challenges in the health sector.

Hilmar Veigar Pétursson is the founder and CEO of CCP. He will talk about friendships, life fulfillment and meaningful bonds. In a world of hyper-connectivity but increasing alienation, online gamers are forging lifelong friendships despite being oceans apart.

Patricia Florissi is a VP and Global CTO at Dell EMC and helps define technology strategy, representing the needs of the broader Dell EMC ecosystem.

The Advania Fall Conference will be held in the world-famous concert hall Harpa in Reykjavik, on September 13th 2019. The conference is one of the largest IT events in Iceland. For the past few years the conference has been sold-out. Guests can now grab an early-bird offer here.
