    ÅF Pöyry to project plan arena in Uppsala

    Earlier this year it was decided that a new ice arena will be built in Gränby, Uppsala, in the east of Sweden. On behalf of Sport- och rekreationsfastigheter AB, a company owned by the Uppsala Municipality, ÅF Pöyry will project plan the new arena, which is expected to open in 2023.The new arena will be erected on Gränby sports field in Uppsala, and will primarily be used for ice hockey and ice skating.     ÅF to assist National Property Board of Sweden in solar cell effort

    The National Property Board of Sweden has been tasked by the Swedish government to increase the use of solar cells. ÅF is to, on the behalf of the National Property Board, carry out an inventory of possible locations for solar cells on a number of properties, including Varberg Fortress and Drottningholm Palace.The government’s assignment to the National Property Board of Sweden is about increasing the use of solar cells at properties which are unable to carry their own financial costs in the long term. Therefore, it has been decided that these should receive a grant from the government.

    The assignment concerns a feasibility study of a new tramway line and city bus in Gothenburg, Sweden. The purpose of the study is to enable the construction of a new link between Frihamnen and Lindholmen. It is estimated that the tramway and city bus will be ready in 2022, with operations set to start in early 2023.The City of Gothenburg has planned for a new tramway line and city bus between Brunnsbo and Linnéplatsen, through Lindholmen and Frihamnen.     The arbitral tribunal has today issued its award in the dispute between ÅF Pöyry AB and Danir AB regarding the calculation of additional consideration for ÅF Pöyry's acquisition of Epsilon Holding AB in 2012.The arbitral tribunal ruled in favour of ÅF Pöyry and largely dismissed Danir’s claims.     New Appointment to ÅF Pöyry Group Management

    ÅF Pöyry has appointed Susan Gustafsson as general counsel and a member of group management.
