    ÅF renovates recycling plant in Kumla

    ÅF will upgrade the automation system in Sakab’s incineration plant in Kumla. The project starts in September 2015 and is expected to last three years. The assignment is a total project management solution in which ÅF will replace five old operator systems (ABB SattGraph 5000) with a common ABB 800xA system.     New Balance+ control renewal project in Rayong

    ÅF in Finland has signed a new Balance+ contract with Glow Energy Public Company Limited in Thailand. Glow Energy is one of the main private electricity producers in Thailand and it is part of GDF Suez. Glow Energy’s CFB3, a coal-fired circulating fluidized bed boiler unit, located in Rayong province, has net electric capacity of 85 MWe and export steam 79 t/hr. Balance+ implementation will improve the plant’s existing conventional main controls resulting in better thermal efficiency, lower auxiliary power consumption, improved robustness to disturbances and increased boiler life-cycle.
