Rubberduck becomes Aspiro TV - moves from mobile-only to three screen TV services
Aspiro subsidiary Rubberduck Media Lab today announces a change of company name to Aspiro TV. The name change clarifies its part in the group, as well as signals a move from being a pure mobile-TV provider, towards delivering hosted and managed TV-services to all devices and screens.
- TV is together with Music on its way to becoming the core of the new and future-oriented Aspiro. These two areas are growing very fast and we are looking forward to an exciting year where we will launch with several new partners and in new markets, says Gunnar Sellæg, CEO of Aspiro.
Aspiro has already launched TV-applications for PC Player and iPad and will be expanding its product portfolio further in 2011, to include mobile and web streaming to anything from mobile phones, through tablets and portable computers to connected TV’s.
With the name change, Aspiro TV will also be a more clearly integrated part of the Aspiro Group, listed on the Nasdaq OMX stock exchange in Stockholm, which also offers streaming music services and mobile business solutions such as mobile payment.
- Rubberduck has been a good name for us and it has symbolized the fresh and innovative corporate culture we possess, which has been the company trade mark since the start in 2004. I can promise all our customers and partners that this positive culture will continue to live and flourish as we increase our efforts even more as Aspiro TV, says Erling Paulsen, Head of Aspiro TV.
Aspiro TV will be present at the Mobile World Congress at the joint Aspiro stand, showcasing the new product portfolio including mobile, tablet and PC clients. Visit us in Barcelona on February 14-17 in Hall 2 - Stand 2A67.
