New CFO in the Atea Group

Robert Giori (43) is appointed as new CFO in the Atea Group. Robert is joining Atea from Nordic Semiconductor ASA, where he has been CFO since 2009 during a period of rapid growth. Robert brings extensive experience from the IT solutions industry, having also held positions as Chief Financial Officer of TeleComputing ASA and as Finance Director of Dell Norway. Prior to this, Robert worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company on business strategy and operations improvement.

Mr. Giori has an MBA from Harvard University and a Bachelor degree in International Relations from Stanford University. In addition, he has completed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) examinations in the United States.

"We are very happy to see Robert onboard as CFO. In Robert, Atea will get an energetic CFO who has extensive and highly relevant experience to do a great job in an important and demanding role," says CEO Steinar Sønsteby.

Robert will be part of the top management team and report to the CEO. He will start in his role 1 August 2014. Robert will take over from Rune Falstad, who has held the position from 2005. Rune will as planned retire from the end of the year and will assist to ensure a smooth and efficient transfer.

"I will take this opportunity to thank Rune for his major contribution to Atea over the last nine years. I have greatly valued his professionalism, expertise, determination and enthusiasm," says CEO Steinar Sønsteby.

Rune Falstad commented: "I have been with Atea since 2005, and it has been an incredible journey. I have had many exciting years working together with highly skilled and hard-working colleagues. It is now time for me to retire, and I am very happy to hand the CFO role to Robert who I am sure will do a great job for Atea. In particular, I want to give many thanks to the colleagues in the financial department for their significant contribution and excellent cooperation over all these years."
