It’s useful and invigorating to reflect on what we have achieved together as an organisation, but there is always room for improvement. We are taking on board the suggestions that IBP has made.
One advantage of being accredited as an Investors in People organisation is that it makes us more attractive to job applicants, and that will help us to maintain our fast growth. You do have to be bright to work here, but prior experience in recruitment isn’t a prerequisite. We find that experienced recruitment professionals often need to unlearn what they have learned elsewhere, which means it takes longer for them to think like consultants rather than salespeople.
The office erupted several times while I was there, with everyone banging on their desks, a bell ringing, and music being played.
