Good Garage Scheme members help drivers give early winter the cold shoulder

Members of the Good Garage Scheme are being offered the opportunity to reassure their customers of a high quality service by providing them with a 20-point Winter Check.

Nearly 3,000 member garages are advising customers to step it up a gear and get their vehicles prepared for the early winter we are being warned about. Despite the heat wave we saw at the end of September, there is growing speculation sparked by weather organisation, Exacta Weather, that we could see an early snowfall.

The Good Garage Scheme has re-launched its comprehensive 20-point Winter Check so that garages and customers can shake off the early winter. The check enables participating garages to ensure customers’ vehicles are in top condition for the severe weather.

Good Garage Scheme members that register to offer the Winter Check will receive free point of sale materials and check pads as well as the benefits of marketing the check to consumers through press and on its popular website.

The Good Garage Scheme begins another national television advertising campaign on SKY starting on 31stOctober.

The essential winter motoring package includes checking the following:

  • The condition and levels of antifreeze
  • Tyre condition
  • Engine oil
  • Brakes
  • Windscreens
  • Wipers and lights
