Cision Introduces Detailed Media Research on Influencers and Outlets Who Cover Four Key Industries
CisionPoint PR Software Offers Improved Productivity and Effectiveness to Users with A&E, Automotive, Fashion & Beauty, and Government Clients
CHICAGO, February 24, 2011 – Cision, the leading provider of PR software, services and tools for the media and PR industry, today introduced new, comprehensive media research data for CisionPoint users planning PR campaigns in four key categories: Arts & Entertainment, Automotive, Fashion & Beauty, and Government.
The new industry profiles offer users greater productivity and better coverage results through the public relations industry’s most thorough, accurate and frequently updated research about journalists, bloggers, influencers and outlets who specialize in those vertical markets.
The profiles contain information about top influencers and bloggers, as well as editors, beat reporters and freelancers at broad-based media outlets – daily newspapers, magazines, television and radio stations and networks, and online sites.
Content includes detailed overviews of the journalist or influencer; coverage history; biographical information; deadlines; Twitter handles; audio interviews; contact preferences along with pet peeves; and detailed pitching tips. Outlet information provides demographics, circulation, viewership and other audience metrics; social media metrics for online sites; editorial opportunities and calendars; and article submission guidelines and deadlines.
“Communicators need the most accurate, in-depth information available at their fingertips. Our researchers constantly dig deep into trends and news stories that are breaking in specific industries, and the most influential people and outlets that are breaking those stories,” said Heidi Sullivan, Vice President, Media Research, of Cision North America.
“Our research is constantly verified, with new outlets, opportunities and influencers added continuously. Cision and CisionPoint provide the comprehensive data that communicators need to serve these markets,” she said.
Information that Gets News Coverage and Builds Relationships
In the profiles, editors, reporters, bloggers and influencers specify the topics they are vitally interested in and how best to get them the information they demand – allowing communicators to build and sustain mutually beneficial, one-to-one relationships.
For example, the Government profile for Cynthia Gordy, Washington bureau reporter and blogger for The Root, notes that she’s “open to just about anything that makes sense for The Root brand and audience." She looks for story proposals with a specific news peg or unique angle, and she wants to be contacted by email, not by phone. In the Fashion field, contact Suzanne Kopulos, style director and blogger at Garmental, welcomes getting full-season “look books” for apparel, shoes and accessories – but not off-topic pitches. She told Cision that she “reads everything” – including follow-up emails about on-topic proposals. “I know what it’s like to be on their side, because I’ve done [PR],” she said, “so it doesn’t bother me.”
Free Influencer Briefing Book Offers Sample of Rich Premium Content
To see samples of the data contained in the premium profiles, download Cision’s free Arts & Entertainment briefing book which includes a list of Twitter handles for top contacts at outlets like E! News, Monsters and Critics, Artmosphere, Entertainment Weekly, Now, Star Inc., and Inside the Box. To complement the A&E briefing book, Cision also posted The Top 10 Entertainment News & Gossip TV Programs to its free Navigator online community, which compiles and publishes the Cision Top 10 for a variety of industries and categories every week.
In addition to Arts & Entertainment, Automotive, Fashion & Beauty and Government premium profiles, Cision also provides detailed industry data sets for Business & Finance, Consumer, Education, Energy & Environment, Health & Science, Technology, and Travel & Tourism.
