Celebrate Frozen Custard Day with the World’s Greatest
An irresistible choice for every temptation, from cones to Concrete Mixers to Custard Cakes
PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. – August 8, 2012 – While every day is Frozen Custard Day at Culver’s, we raise our blue spoons on the official holiday to celebrate this most irresistible treat. Fresh Frozen Custard has been on the menu from the start – it’s what guests think of when they think Culver’s.
Making the world’s greatest Fresh Frozen Custard starts in Wisconsin. The milk Culver’s uses comes from more than 100 family farms. The “Fresh” in Culver’s Fresh Frozen Custard means that each restaurant makes small batches of Vanilla, Chocolate and the Flavor of the Day throughout the day. This commitment to freshness is what sets Culver’s apart from the rest, and makes for a richer, creamier treat.
“A trip to Culver’s wouldn’t be complete without enjoying Fresh Frozen Custard,” says Craig Culver, co-founder and CEO of Culver’s. “It’s the decadent half of our signature combination. One spoonful and you’ll be hooked.”
Culver’s is challenging viewers of its latest TV spot to test their knowledge for a chance to win a $250 gift card. Visit http://www.culvers.com/flavor-quiz/ to learn about the creamy decadence of Fresh Frozen Custard and enter to win through September 9.
On Frozen Custard Day, Culver’s also serves up five Fresh Frozen Custard facts to celebrate the day.
1. Fresh Frozen Custard for Beginners
For those unfamiliar with Fresh Frozen Custard, first, our sympathies! Frozen Custard made its Midwestern debut during the Chicago World’s Fair in 1933 and has been a Wisconsin treat ever since. Frozen Custard was a longtime favorite treat for the Culver family, who frequently made trips to Milwaukee (the unofficial custard capital of the world) for their beloved dessert.
2. Fresh Frozen Custard’s Cousin
Frozen Custard has less air and is served at a slightly higher temperature than its cousin, ice cream, making it a thicker and creamier treat.
3. Dessert or Treat? Yes and Yes
Fresh Frozen Custard is a perfect sweet and creamy complement to a ButterBurger® or a decadent treat on its own. Culver’s Fresh Frozen Custard options include one, two and three scoops in a dish or cone, Concrete Mixers®, Shakes, Malts, Sundaes and the birthday party favorite, the Concrete Cake.
4. Every Day Is Different, and Delicious
Culver’s crave-inspiring Flavor of the Day consists of over 80 flavors, including guest favorites like Cookie Dough Craving, Turtle and Mint Chip. The flavors vary by restaurant location and rotate daily. Each Fresh Frozen Custard Flavor of the Day is crafted with a combination of gooey toppings, bits of candy, real fruit or chunks of cookie or brownie.
5. Schedule Cravings
Guests can keep track of their beloved flavors by visiting culvers.com or downloading the restaurant’s iPhone or Android app with a five-day forecast. There’s also the old school way to find the Flavor of the Day – on the restaurant marquee!
