The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is seeking expressions of interest from industry partners to build new Single Living Accommodation (SLA) for Royal Marines Officers.

DIO’s priority is providing support to the Armed Forces and the proposed development will provide 60 new high-quality bed spaces with ensuite facilities at RM Poole .

The requirement, which has a value of £4-5m, is for a three-storey building which will be constructed on a brownfield site at the base. An advert to start the procurement process will appear shortly in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) seeking potential bidders.

Steve Curtis, DIO Project Manager, said:

“DIO’s priority is to support our Armed Forces as they prepare for operations. Providing Service personnel with sustainable, high-quality living accommodation is one of the many ways we can do this.”

The contract will be let on a design and build basis. Issue of tenders is expected by early 2014 with work starting in the summer.
