Malmö, 27 May 2025 -  Diaverum, the Swedish-born global renal care provider, today announced that it has successfully acquired full ownership of IMU Dialysis Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, effective March 2025. In line with this development, the clinic has been officially renamed Diaverum Renal Services Sdn Bhd.

Located in Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, a suburb in the southern part of Kuala Lumpur, the clinic offers comprehensive dialysis treatment with 12 dialysis stations, capable of treating up to 72 patients. Its main services focus on the provision of haemodialysis, along with the coordination and provision of multidisciplinary care through specialist teams.

This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone in Diaverum’s journey to expand access to high-quality, life-enhancing renal care across Malaysia.

Ziyad Kabli, Diaverum's Chief Operating Officer for Middle East and Asia, said: “The integration of Diaverum Renal Services Sdn Bhd into our clinic network reinforces our commitment to transforming renal care and growing our offering in Asia, a region with a high prevalence of chronic kidney disease. Our holistic care approach, combined with our digital infrastructure and innovative solutions, will enable us to deliver world-class, personalised care to more patients in need”.

Amantur Ryskulov, Diaverum's General Manager for South-East Asia & Kazakhstan, added: “The acquisition of IMU Dialysis marks a major milestone as our first-ever acquisition in Malaysia since entering the market. While we have been managing this clinic operationally for the past 11 years, this move represents a formal investment into the local market. It strengthens our footprint in the region and reinforces our long-term vision for sustainable growth in South-East Asia.

“We are proud of this achievement and grateful to everyone involved in the process. This is an exciting new chapter for Diaverum Malaysia”.

With this news, Diaverum Malaysia now operates three clinics across the country, with 25 staff providing life-enhancing renal care to 165 patients.
