Organisational changes centralise quality measures and create additional synergies across the countries

Munich, 06 May 2013 – Diaverum, one of the world’s leading renal care providers, is aligning its organisational structure to respond to the strong growth of the company. Beatriz Bottner has joined Diaverum as Chief Quality & Business Processes Officer. She is a member of the Executive Team and reports directly to Dag Andersson, CEO and President of Diaverum. In this new function, she will ensure the highest possible quality and standards for patients and staff in 18 countries in Europe, Middle East, Latin America and Australia. In addition, four Diaverum countries will be consolidated in one new area, Area Central, headed by Måns Olsson, Chief Business Development Officer at Diaverum.

Commenting on the organisational changes, Dag Andersson, CEO and President of Diaverum said: “We are continuing to grow at rapid pace, both through acquisitions and the expansion of our service offering. With these changes we are aligning our organisational structure to the business needs and continuing on our path to become a high-quality, integrated renal patient care provider and a strong partner to patients, payers and governments.”

New function: Quality & Business Processes

Diaverum installed the central function Quality & Business Processes to ensure even higher focus on quality throughout the company. It will also ensure that the recently introduced quarterly patient satisfaction measures are strongly connected to our continuous improvement philosophy. Beatriz Bottner has been appointed Chief Quality & Business Processes Officer as of 1 April 2013.

Beatriz Bottner, with a degree in Business Administration, has over 20 years’ experience in Quality Management, first as auditor and trainer, then in various management positions leading 14 countries under a multinational Certification Body. In 2011 she started as a business process consultant, where she got acquainted with Diaverum in 2012 as Special Projects Manager for Bureau Veritas, a global leader in conformity assessment and certification services. Beatriz Bottner is a German national and has an international background having lived in Central America, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Canada and London. Currently she is based in Milan. She will be located in Munich, where Diaverum has its corporate office.

Welcoming Beatriz Bottner to the Diaverum Executive Team, Dag Andersson said: “High-quality and efficient service delivery for our patients is one of our key objectives and a recurring theme in our strategy. By creating a new function to head both quality and business processes, we are putting these topics even higher on our agenda. With Beatriz Bottner we have found the ideal candidate to install and improve our model that will drive an even higher focus on quality throughout the company and facilitate interconnections within functions and countries.”

Beatriz Bottner commented on her new role: “My aim is to streamline and improve the processes and their governance across all 18 Diaverum countries and to drive an innovative culture of quality. We will create a lean, integrated Quality System, focused on patient flow as well as resource efficiency and continuous measured improvement. I am delighted and proud to join this team of highly professional and inspiring people.”

‘Area Central’ with Germany, Lithuania, Sweden and the UK

Building on the good experiences in Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Latin America, Diaverum has clustered the stand-alone countries Germany, Lithuania, Sweden along with the UK in a new area called Area Central. “The purpose is to achieve better synergies across countries and to provide a more focused support by the Area teams,” explained Dag Andersson.

The newly created area is headed by Måns Olsson, a role he has assumed alongside his responsibilities as Chief Business Development Officer. Måns Olsson will be supported by an area management team.

The new Area structure is as follows:

  • Area Latin America: Argentina, Chile, Uruguay
  • Area South West: Portugal, Spain, France, Italy
  • Area East: Poland, Hungary, Romania, Russia, Region Turkey/Middle East
  • Area Central: Germany, UK, Lithuania , Sweden

“The creation of Area Central is about pooling knowledge and using our resources in an effective way. I am looking forward to supporting the four countries in my area better by understanding their differences and similarities and facilitating the sharing of expertise between them,” said Mans Olsson.
