Diaverum appoints new CFO and new Chief Strategy & Health Policy Affairs Officer
Martin Loeffler and Dr Claus Biermann join renal care provider
Munich, 21 January 2015 – Diaverum, one of the leading renal care providers worldwide, has appointed two German top managers to join the Executive Team. As of February 1st, Martin E. Loeffler, an internationally experienced finance executive takes on the role of Chief Financial Officer from Annette Kumlien, now SVP, Chief Operating Officer at Diaverum. The Strategic Office function has been expanded by adding Governmental Affairs and Health Economics and is now headed by Dr Claus Biermann, who already worked as Executive Advisor for Diaverum in 2014. Both report directly to Dag Andersson, CEO and President of Diaverum.
Commenting on the new appointments in the Executive Team, Dag Andersson said: “We are continuing to grow and broaden the business to a full integrated renal care model and this is also reflected by the latest additions to our Executive Team.

Martin Loeffler started his career in Controlling. He took on the role of Managing Director and Regional CFO at Computer 2000 after the acquisition by Tech Data Corporation. From 2003, he served as CFO in different companies such as Thiel Logistik AG, Gagfah S.A. and agri.capital. Before joining Diaverum he worked as Principal at CFO Solutions in Hamburg. Martin Loeffler holds a German business degree as well as a MBA from the University of Georgia.

Prior to joining Diaverum in 2015, Dr Claus W. Biermann worked as Global Executive Healthcare Advisor and Entrepreneur. He started his career in 1990 in different medical, quality and research functions at the University Hospitals Hamburg, Bochum, Muenster, Aarhus and Chicago, before he worked in different healthcare top management positions at Janssen-Cilag Germany/Europe, Gruenenthal, Coss AG and T-System International. In 2006 he joined Royal Philips Electronics as Vice President Global Business Development Healthcare and Chief Medical Officer Emerging Markets Healthcare. In 2012 he took on the role of Executive Director Market Development & Innovation Healthcare at GE Germany/Europe. He studied medical studies in Switzerland, Germany and the USA. Being a doctor of medicine (MD) he holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Bielefeld, Germany.
