Diaverum confirms closing of €884m refinancing package
Munich, 7 April 2014 – Diaverum, Europe’s largest, product-independent and one of the world’s leading renal care service providers, with sponsor Bridgepoint has successfully refinanced its existing debt facilities in a transaction underwritten by Commerzbank, Crédit Agricole CIB, GE Capital, J.P. Morgan and RBS. The transaction included increased capex facilities and the subsequent debt syndication was significantly oversubscribed. As evident by the successful refinancing, the finance institutes clearly support Diaverum’s strategy to offer a high quality of care and be the preferred renal care service provider for governments and physicians globally.
Dag Andersson, CEO and President of Diaverum, commented on the closing of the refinancing package, that this is a “clear sign” of trust into our organisation, our focus on the patient and our medical excellence. “We are growing strongly and are continuing to investigate treatment alternatives for our patients to improve their quality of life. The new facilities aim to fund growth and provide additional financing flexibility for the underlying business — the refinanced debt matures in 2020-22 — and provide access to a more diversified investor base.
Since the 2007 buyout by the Shareholders, Diaverum has expanded its clinic base from 165 to 286, entered five new, high-growth markets, diversified its service offering and created a patient-centric organisation.
