Dometic today announces that the Company has appointed Bengt Thorsson as new Regional President of EMEA with full effect from October 1, 2016. Bengt Thorsson succeeds Joachim Kinscher, who after more than 40 years of service with the company has chosen to step down from his role as Regional President of EMEA and take on an advisory position for the Group. Joachim Kinscher and Bengt Thorsson will work in parallel during a transition period.

Bengt Thorsson joins from Scania where he most recently has been Senior Vice President Commercial Operations Europe.

"With Bengt Thorsson joining us from Scania, we have found a very suitable successor for the role of Regional President for EMEA. Bengt's wealth of experience in developing aftermarket businesses in one of our core customer sectors, as well as a very strong track record as a leader in one of the most respected companies within the global automotive industry, will further strengthen our competence and leadership in Dometic's Group Management", says Roger Johansson, President and CEO of Dometic Group.

Bengt Thorsson succeeds Joachim Kinscher, who, after more than 40 years of service with the company, has chosen to step down from his role as Regional President of EMEA and take on a strategic advisory role for the group.

"After a tremendous career with Electrolux and Dometic, Joachim has chosen to refocus his work life. He will continue to work as strategic advisor for me and the Group, mainly involved in activities related to mergers and acquisitions and business development. Joachim has been instrumental in building today's Dometic. His in-depth knowledge of our markets in general and the RV markets in particular, combined with his relentless energy and passion for the business have made him a highly respected leader, both internally and externally. I am very grateful for his invaluable contributions over the years" says Roger Johansson.

Bengt Thorsson will start on September 1 and will during a transition period in September work jointly with Joachim Kinscher until the above changes take full effect as of October 1. He will work out of Siegen and Emsdetten in Germany.
