MrSavage Takes $30,000 Grand Prize and Fortnite Trophy

Remaining $220,000 Prize Pool Split Among Top 99 Players

STOCKHOLM/ANAHEIM — DreamHack, the premier gaming lifestyle festival, has announced the winner of the largest community tournament to ever take place at a U.S. DreamHack festival — entitled, “DreamHack Anaheim featuring Fortnite.” The tournament offered a whopping $250,000 prize pool up for grabs, with guaranteed participation for anyone who obtained a BYOC (“Bring Your Own Computer”) ticket, or participated on a first-come, first-served basis from the freeplay area.

The top winner in Anaheim was 15-year-old Norwegian Martin “MrSavage” Foss Andersen, representing 100Thieves, who received $30,000 and the Fortnite Trophy. The complete top three were: MrSavage (100Thieves), Bizzle (Ghost Gaming), and nanolite. The complete prize pool distributions for all 10 top players are available HERE. More than 1200 people of all ages participated in the tournament.

"I'm just really happy, all my hard work has paid off. I've been playing a lot in the past year trying to really approve,” said Foss Andersen after the victory, continuing by praising the tournament itself: “I feel like it's been really well organized and it's been really fun."

No pre-qualifiers were held for the event, so those interested were encouraged to purchase BYOC tickets DreamHack Anaheim to be guaranteed a spot in these massive Fortnite tournaments. 

The tournament was played using the games solo mode — details HERE. This was a tournament for festival visitors only and was not be broadcasted.
