Herning, Denmark, 12 November 2020 – Everfuel A/S has signed a multi-year frame agreement with Hexagon Purus for supply of hydrogen trailers designed exclusively to Everfuel specifications as part of the company’s strategy to connect the entire green hydrogen value chain, from production to consumption through core solutions for distribution and fueling supported by data driven optimization.  At signing of the frame agreement, Everfuel has ordered six hydrogen trailers for delivery in 2021.

Everfuel will be the first to apply a customized version of Hexagon Purus’ newly designed hydrogen distribution system following a period of joint development and implementation of Everfuel-specific functionality and IP. The trailers will be prepared to connect to Everfuel’s Helios big data system which collects information from all Everfuel green hydrogen value-chain assets for analysis and intelligent application to drive efficiency and competitiveness.

“Safe and efficient distribution is one of the cornerstones of a successful and growing commercial green hydrogen business,” says Jacob Krogsgaard, the CEO of Everfuel. “We are very pleased to establish a long-term partnership with Hexagon Purus for state-of-the-art hydrogen trailers and we look forward to jointly continue developing and improving green hydrogen distribution solutions further to reduce cost and increase performance while maintaining a high level of safety.”

The frame agreement covers design, production and delivery of hydrogen distribution systems for Everfuel through 2025. Everfuel will under the agreement purchase trailers for its projects as green hydrogen supply contracts are signed with end customers. In connection with signing the frame agreement, Everfuel has previously ordered two distribution units from Hexagon Purus for delivery in early 2021. The six trailers ordered today will operate in Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands.

“We are excited to continue our close collaboration with Everfuel as they work to commercialize hydrogen fuel and fight emissions in our cities,” says Michael Kleschinski, EVP Hexagon Purus. “At Hexagon Purus, we are proud of our hydrogen storage technology that enables our customers to have the most cost-efficient hydrogen distribution systems on the market.”

The trailers carry a 45-foot hydrogen distribution system with a nominal payload capacity of 958 kg of compressed hydrogen at a pressure of 300 bar. The design includes advanced monitoring for improved filling efficiency. The trailers will be produced at Hexagon Purus’ production and assembly facility in Kassel, Germany.
