European Commission has approved the sale of Fazer Food Services by Fazer to Compass Group PLC

Fazer Group focuses on its fast-moving consumer goods and direct-to-consumer businesses and has agreed to sell Fazer Food Services to Compass Group. The transaction has now been approved by the EU Commission. The transaction has now been approved by the EU Commission.

Fazer Group is speeding up its transformation into a modern sustainable food company with a joint direction by executing its strategy focusing on the FMCG and direct-to-consumer businesses. As a part of the transformation, Fazer Group agreed to sell Fazer Food Services to Compass Group. Fazer Food Services is a premier food service provider in the Nordics.

The transaction, agreed upon in June 2019, was approved by the EU Commission on 28 January but the transaction has not yet completed. More information will be provided later. Until that time, Compass Group and Fazer Food Services will continue as competitors.
