Fazer Confectionery has completed the collaboration negotiations regarding temporary lay-offs of the employees at the Lappeenranta factory

As announced in the end of August, Fazer Confectionery started collaboration negotiations regarding some of the operations of the Lappeenranta factory. The negotiations involved 121 employees. Fazer has a need to temporarily lay off some of the employees at the Lappeenranta factory due to the changes in the consumer behaviour caused by the current corona pandemic.

The employer has now decided on the temporary lay-offs. Based on a separate evaluation, up to a maximum of 90 days per employee will be used during the current year.

To minimise the impact of the potential lay-offs on the employees, Fazer may offer the employees the possibility to use paid leaves, to work in another department or periodising the terms of the temporary lay-offs.
