Fazer and the Finnish Tennis Association have renewed their partnership agreement. The collaboration aims to encourage children and youth to play tennis while highlighting the importance of a balanced diet during critical growth years. Fazer is a partner in the Junior Grand Prix series, as well as major tennis events organised by the Finnish Tennis Association. The extension agreement is valid until the end of 2028.

The nationally popular Junior Grand Prix series has carried the Fazer JGP series name since 2022. The Fazer Junior Grand Prix is played in age groups 10, 12, 14 and 16.

" Establishing a regular eating routine and healthy snacking habits is most beneficial when started at an early age. Playing tennis is a great way to exercise and to explore new experiences. It also enhances social skills and fosters a sense of community when played with friends. In order to enjoy sports, young athletes need varied food as part of an active lifestyle," says Joséphine Mickwitz, EVP, Communications and Sustainability at Fazer Group. "We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Finnish Tennis Association to support the well-being of children and young people."

Over the past year, the JGP series has toured more than ten cities and almost 1500 young people and children have participated in the competitions. The season will conclude with the Masters tournament, featuring the top players, from November 29th to December 1st, 2024, in Turku, Finland.

"We thank Fazer for the seamless collaboration and are thrilled about the extended contract. Since the 1980s, we have had a strong shared tradition of promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. Fazer's strong brand and high-quality products are an excellent fit for our sport and target groups, offering a fantastic chance to achieve our shared objectives," says Teemu Purho, CEO of the Finnish Tennis Association.

The cooperation also covers top tennis events organised by the Finnish Tennis Association, such as the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup competitions for national teams.

Earlier this year, Fazer signed a three-year partnership agreement with BNP Paribas Nordic Open, the largest tennis tournament in the Nordics. The goal of the partnership is to offer memorable food experiences as part of the tournament. In October 2024, the international matches at the Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm were also attended by a group of young Finnish players who had succeeded in the Fazer JGP tournament.
