Fazer’s new summery bakery products – New Fazer Paahto, Reissumies as well as sweet treats for summer parties

Fazer’s new products lead the way to summer. The charming new flavours of the Fazer Paahto toasting bread and the winner product of the Oululainen Reissumies recipe competition are now available in well-stocked shops. And don’t forget to try our sweet bakery products: Oululainen Pullava is now completely free of palm oil, and this summer’s favourite gluten-free treat is Fazer Gluteeniton Mansikkakakkunen strawberry cake. These delicious breads and pastries hit the shops on 24 April 2023.

The crispy and crunchy Fazer Paahto that is scrumptiously soft inside

When toasted, this bread gets a perfect golden colour with the appropriate crunch but inside, it will remain lovely and soft. The Fazer Paahto toasting breads are baked in Finland from carefully selected grains grown in Finland and milled at our own mill in Lahti. The recipe of the Fazer Paahto toasting breads is based on a sourdough starter, and it has been refined to perfection over the decades: The baking of toasting bread started in 1966 in the Pitäjänmäki bakery from where it was relocated to Fazer’s Vantaa bakery in 1971. The new, delicious Fazer Paahto toasting breads hit the shops on 24 April 2023. 

Toast is often eaten for breakfast and as an afternoon snack, which is why it needs to be filling. Toast is also a perfect treat.* The reason behind selecting Fazer’s toasting bread is most often its great flavour: Fazer Paahto is most often placed in the shopping basket for its flavour (80%) and Finnishness (47%).** The now new Fazer Paahto has a sturdier structure and larger and thicker slice size.

Fazer Paahto Rouhea Hapanjuuri 350 g

The new Fazer Paahto Rouhea Hapanjuuri is baked using a rye sourdough starter, which lends it a pleasant, rich taste. Delicious seeds add the final touch to the experience.

Fazer Paahto Maalaismonivilja 350 g

The scrumptious flavour of the new Fazer Paahto Maalaismonivilja comes from the combination of a sourdough starter and a wide range of grains and seeds.

Fazer Paahto Lempeä Kaura 350 g

The renewed Fazer Paahto Kaura is now Lempeä Kaura. Like the other Paahto toasting breads, it is made with a sourdough starter, and it has the familiar and delicious oat flavour.

The winning bread of the Reissumies recipe competition to hit the shops

In the spring of 2022, Reissumies challenged consumers to submit their own recipes to Fazer – this way, Reissumies wants to give everyone interested in baking a chance to try their hand in product development, thus impacting Finnish bread culture and the diversification of the offering.

In the Ruisleipurit recipe campaign, we focused on rye recipes that the finalists then developed with Fazer’s product development team. We received almost 300 recipes from which we selected the top three. Each finalist then baked their recipe together with Fazer’s product development team. In the final organised in May, Fazer selected the Mestarileipuri, or “Master Baker” – Jenni from Nurmijärvi. Jenni is a passionate home baker whose bread recipe was a rye bread baked using a sourdough starter. It included carrot and syrup for sweetness and sunflower seeds for texture and flavour.

Reissumies Mestarileipuri Ruis-Porkkana 4 pcs 235 g

The first Reissumies Mestarileipuri is guaranteed to be a new kind of sliced rye bread baked using a sourdough starter. Its unique flavour is created with carrot and sunflower seeds. The flavour experience is complemented by the sweet tinge of the syrup. Baked in Fazer’s bakery in Lahti. Reissumies Mestarileipuri Ruis-Porkkana is available from 24 April 2023 onwards.

Set up a summer party in no time with the new Fazer Salted Caramel cake or an eternal favourite, an impressive cake roll.

Fazer Salted Caramel cake 340 g

On top of the brownie base of this delicious cake flavoured with salted caramel, we have added soft caramel mousse that hides within it a cocoa biscuit crisp heart. The cake is covered in mouth-watering caramel frosting and salty caramel bits. The Fazer Salted Caramel cake complements the family of Fazer’s smaller gateaux. This salty and sweet mousse cake is a perfect choice for an everyday treat, small party or splendid cake buffet.

Pullava is now free of palm oil

At Fazer, we want to do people and the planet good. For decades, we at Fazer have worked towards sustainability, and the work continues. Our goal is to make our product offering even better and more sustainable.

Now we are taking a significant step forward and making our Pullava sweet bun loaf free of palm oil starting on 24 April 2023. At the same time, we are renewing the recipe of the filled sweet bun loaves to make Pullava even softer.

Oululainen Pullava Strawberry and Rhubarb 400 g

This seasonal sweet loaf has a summery flavour combination of strawberry, rhubarb, and vanilla. The new Oululainen Pullava Strawberry and Rhubarb is now free of palm oil and softer than ever, and it is baked in Fazer’s bakery in Lahti. Lactose-free, soy-free. Gluten-free and delicious − New Kakkunen summer flavour

The new summery small cake gives variation also to those following a gluten-free diet.

The Mansikkakakkunen cake has a tasty strawberry filling with pink frosting on top. The convenient package contains two small cakes, which makes it easy to take with you on summery picnics. Fazer’s new gluten-free chicken burger Gluteeniton Kanahampurilainen provides those following a gluten-free diet with a new, filling snack to meet the needs of your busy daily life.

The gluten-free chicken burger has a soft gluten-free bun, Finnish chicken, cheddar cheese and chilli mayonnaise that is just the right kind of spicy. The burger is gluten-free and low in lactose. Available in shops from 18 April 2023.
