Fazer’s sweet novelties will brighten your new year – with new additions for snack lovers, too!
After the Christmas holidays comes the start of a new and wonderful year. You can celebrate the start of the new year by enjoying new taste experiences – for example, in smaller sizes! At the beginning of the year, Fazer is launching the Remix Mini range of small mixed sweets bags. The Karl Fazer Pretzel 180 g is a sure choice for those who enjoy sweet and salty combinations. For consumers looking for a slightly healthier but no less delicious snack, Fazer is pleased to introduce two completely new products: Fazer Crunchy protein bars and the new Fazer Alku Soft Granola Bites, Fazer Alku Pehmeä Granolapala.
At the start of the new year, many consumers look for a balance in their lives: balancing work and leisure, exercise and rest, salty and sweet, and indulgence and healthier eating. Fazer’s novelties for the beginning of the year offer options for a wide range of gourmands. These novelties include small treats as well as sweets for sharing with a bigger crowd. The new year can also be started with a healthier treat with Fazer’s new snack products, Fazer Crunchy protein bars and Fazer Alku Soft Granola Bites.
Confectionery novelties
A chocolatey alliance of sweet and salty
Combining salty flavours with sweets is a globally growing trend. Consumers are looking for new flavour combinations, shapes, and interesting textures to experience and indulge in. Karl Fazer Pretzel 180 g is a mouth-watering combination of a salty and crunchy pretzel and Finland’s most beloved milk chocolate.
While other novelties will not be available until early 2024, this savoury and crispy delicacy will be available in Fazer Cafés and Gateau bakery shops already before Christmas, starting from 1 December 2023. The new chocolate tablet is also available at the Fazer Experience Visitor Centre Shop in Vantaa. So if you can’t wait until the beginning of the year, you can experience this new treat in advance!
Mint Susu tastes like a fresh kiss
Crunchy Susu Snacks are Finland’s most popular unwrapped chocolate candies. The new Susu Snacks Mint 160 g combines a fresh mint flavour with the familiar, deliciously crunchy snack. Susu Mint has toffee and fresh mint flavour inside, crunchy crisps and a generous layer of milk chocolate on top. It’s a perfect pairing with an afternoon coffee.
Kismet + Pätkis = True
The Kismet Pätkis 41 g chocolate countline contains two layers of fresh Pätkis mint truffle filling sandwiched between light and crispy wafers, topped with a delectable milk chocolate coating. This new product was rated the most interesting flavour combination in a highly popular survey in the MyFazer community. Kismet Pätkis does not contain palm oil.
Kismet Pätkis will be available in Fazer Cafés starting from 1 December 2023.
Remix Mini – new arrivals for small moments of indulgence
The Remix Mini series introduces three colourful little bags for smaller moments of indulgence. The Remix Mini Sour 120 g, Remix Mini Choco 100 g and Remix Mini Minis 120 g include familiar favourites, but in completely new blends. The Remix Mini Sour is a mix of Fazer’s most popular sour candies, the Remix Mini Choco delights chocolate lovers, and the Remix Mini Minis brings together the cutest little fruit candies.
The versatile Remix Mini mixed bags are made to satisfy that little sweet tooth or when you just want a specific type of candy – like your favourite sour candies. Consumer studies and feedback have repeatedly highlighted the desire for smaller bags of mixed sweets. Small bags are especially needed for small moments of indulgence or, for example, when travelling.
The lovely Ässä Mix in a new mega-size
Finns love the flavours and shapes of Ässä Mix sweets. To celebrate the new year, the familiar Ässä Mix shapes will become even bigger, as the Ässä Megax +choco 300 g introduces mega-sized Ässä Mixes. For the first time, we have also combined chocolate in this hefty bag of sweets, which brings completely new possibilities to the flavour combinations of Ässä sweets. Suitable for sharing even with a larger group, this bag will delight both Ässä fans and lovers of chocolate mix bags.
Colourful Ässä pastilles for that little sweet tooth
Familiar Ässä fruit flavours: pear, blackcurrant, orange and pineapple-peach now also delight Ässä sweet lovers in cute miniature form, as Fazer’s pastille sweets series is complemented with a cheerfully colourful novelty, Fazer Ässä Mini fruit pastilles 40 g. These new pastilles are vegan and only contain natural colours. This package of pastilles is perfect for the occasional sweet treat and easy to carry around in your bag, jacket pocket or car.
An attractive new addition to the pick & mix aisle
At the beginning of the new year, Fazer will bring a long-awaited treat to the pick & mix aisle: the Remix Happokielet 2.2 kgRe. In November 2022, we conducted a survey among MyFazer community members, asking which familiar sweet the respondents would like to see in the pick & mix selection. In the end, the winner was very clear. No less than 1/3 of the respondents specifically wanted the Remix Happokieli, a combination of two sour flavours.
Beautiful packaging is perfect as a gift
Giving a gift to a loved one brings good cheer to the giver, even after Christmas. Chocolate is an easy choice and something most recipients will appreciate. The stylish Karl Fazer Pear Yoghurt 270 g and Karl Fazer Lemon Yoghurt 270 g chocolate boxes are perfect for the first signs of spring. Great gifts are also Karl Fazer Milk Chocolate 270 g chocolate boxes, which are available with four different inspirational messages.
As usual, the delicate, light-pink Geisha Sydänrasia (Heart-shaped box) 225 g will also bring joyful spring greetings. These boxes, decorated with the words ‘Thank you’, ‘With love’, ‘With hugs,’ and ‘Love you,’ are perfect for remembering a loved one on special days, like Valentine’s Day, Women’s Day or Mother’s Day.
Better snacks make for happier days
Snacking is increasing both in Finland and globally, especially among young consumers. For example, the number of people eating protein bars has doubled in Finland within three years, and that growth is expected to continue. With snack products, the emphasis is on convenience, but at the same time, people do not want to compromise on taste and healthiness. More and more people are interested in well-being and healthiness, and thus, they also want their snacks to promote healthier eating. This is why Fazer has started to actively develop products that are a little better and a little healthier for snacking – without compromising even a little bit on quality and great taste.
A protein bar, but tastier
In early 2024, Fazer will bring something completely new to the market. Fazer Crunchy protein bars are delicious, milk-chocolate coated protein bars with the much-loved flavours of Pätkis and Dumle. These bars have a toffee core, protein nougat and crunchy protein crisps on top. The Fazer Pätkis Crunchy 45 g and Fazer Dumle Crunchy 45 g contain 14 g of protein/bar (31 g/100 g) and only 1.5 g of sugar (3.3 g/100 g). The bars do not contain any added sugars.
Fazer Crunchy protein bars are for anyone who wants to eat a little healthier and avoid added sugars but doesn’t want to compromise on delicious taste. These protein bars have been designed with flavour in mind while ensuring that the products are functional and satisfy consumers in terms of features such as protein content. Fazer Crunchy protein bars will be located in the same shelf as other protein bars in the fortified foods section in the grocery stores.
The Fazer Crunchy protein bars will be available in stores in February 2024.
New soft granola bites for an active daily life
In the spring, Fazer will introduce a new type of snack product, Fazer Alku Soft Granola Bites. Granola bites expand the range of snack products, bringing new options for everyone looking for a convenient snack, without compromising on the taste or quality of the snack. Fazer Alku Soft Granola Bites Blueberry 120 g and Fazer Alku Soft Granola Bites Apple 120 g are made from Finnish oats. The sweetness in the products originates from oats and fruits. The granola bites are palm oil-free. Fazer Alku Soft Granola Bites are a Finnish heart symbol product – and a convenient snack at home, at work or on the move.
Fazer Alku Soft Granola Bites will be in stores in February–March 2024.
The best new arrivals in one box
This winter’s new products are available in advance through Fazer’s own retail channels: the Visitor Centre, Fazer Cafés, and Fazer’s online store, Fazer Store. The novelties will be available in a convenient box in Fazer Store starting from 15 November 2023. The delectable box includes:

The delicious and crispy Fazer Crunchy protein bars will become available in December, around the Finnish Independence Day. Following the availability of the protein bars, a new version of the novelty box will become available, with the second Karl Fazer Pretzel chocolate tablet replaced by one Fazer Crunchy Pätkis protein bar and one Fazer Crunchy Dumle protein bar.
100 years of biscuit innovation and sweet moments
2024 marks 100 years since Fazer started making biscuits in Helsinki. Over the years, Finns have spent many sweet moments with biscuits. Biscuits elevate routine coffee breaks as well as special occasions, and Fazer’s biscuits include many Finnish favourites.
Fazer’s biscuits are celebrating their centenary with a new look. The playful Fasupala delights with a cheerful campaign that encourages indulging in these biscuits in different situations, and the gentle, pink Domino encourages you to delight your loved ones for Valentine’s Day.
Fazer’s confectionery and biscuit products are made in Finland. The novelties will be available in stores in January 2024.
