Fazer signs a long-term cooperation agreement with the Finnish Paralympic Committee
Fazer Bakery’s Oululainen Reilu brand and the Finnish Paralympic Committee have signed a cooperation agreement that will be visible in many ways from spring 2024 onwards. For Reilu, the collaboration is a way to be part of supporting the development of Finnish sports culture.
Reilu is a low-threshold everyday bread for families with children. The bread is baked at Fazer’s Vantaa bakery from domestic grain. Reilu breads are easy to use thanks to their basic flavours and generous size, and they are suitable for various needs, such as breakfast and snack times.
“Oululainen Reilu wants to contribute to the development of Finnish sports culture. In the Finnish Paralympic Committee, we found a long-term partner with whom we share similar values, such as equality and the desire to inspire physical activity,” says Anna Kanerva, VP, Brand and Portfolio, Fazer Bakery Finland.
As part of the multi-year cooperation that will start this spring, Oululainen Reilu will support the Special Olympics World Championship team Sisujengi. The Special Olympics activities for people with physical and intellectual disabilities will also gain a lot of visibility in the Reilu product packaging, Fazer Experience Visitor Centre and shop materials. In addition to visibility and financial support, Reilu supports Sisujengi through various events, among other things.
“The aim of the cooperation between Fazer and the Finnish Paralympic Committee is to support an equal Finnish sports culture and to bring more visibility to the Special Olympics activities and Sisujengi through a brand familiar to Finns,” Kanerva continues.
The Paralympic Committee develops and coordinates Finnish para-athletics from low-threshold activities to international elite sports. The Special Olympics activities are intended for all persons with disabilities.
“Fazer Bakery is a valuable partner for us, and we especially appreciate the Finnish origin of the Oululainen Reilu brand and its contribution to creating a good everyday life. We share common values and advocate for the same things. Good nutrition plays a significant role in the lives of all athletes, which is another reason Reilu is such a suitable partner for us,” says Timo Mäkynen, Partnership Manager, Finnish Paralympic Committee.
