Fazer welcomes green chef Arthur Potts Dawson to Fazer Foodathon
Fazer will organise an international Fazer Foodathon event looking for future plant-based food solutions. The event will take place on 19 - 21 May in Helsinki and in Fazer´s visitor centre, the Fazer Experience, in Vantaa. Fazer is proud to welcome to Finland the British green chef Arthur Potts Dawson as keynote speaker and mentor.
Fazer’s food hackathon, the Fazer Foodathon, is part of the Group’s overall strategic target to increase the use of grains and vegetables and offer consumers new delicious plant-based alternatives. A seminar, hosted with the EAT Foundation, will kick off a weekend-long creation process. The Fazer Foodathon weekend will gather thinkers, researchers, food professionals and innovators on an international scale.
The event’s speakers include international top-level names. The renowned British vegetarian writer and spokesperson for responsibility, Chef Arthur Potts Dawson will take part in the event and mentor the teams competing at the hackathon.
“The original green chef”
Described as “the original green chef” by Jamie Oliver, Arthur Potts Dawson has worked alongside industry greats. In 2006, he created two sustainably aware urban restaurants, the Acorn House and the Water House.
Arthur Potts Dawson wrote his first book The Acorn House Cookbook in 2008. His latest restaurant project is an organic pop-up called Mrs Paisley’s Lashings, with all profits going to organic education projects in schools around London.
In 2010, Arthur Potts Dawson opened the People's Supermarket which is a non-profit co-operative social enterprise with a unique business model. Its owners and members work voluntarily with the aim to keep costs low and good food cheap.
The Fazer Foodathon will be organised in cooperation with the media and event company ArcticStartup in the Fazer Experience Visitor Centre and the Haaga-Helia campus on 19-21 May. Find out more about the Fazer Foodathon event at
