Fazer Patukat countlines are not only a brand, but also a band, that already for several years have brought joy to people with its ingenious songs. The clever songs of the happy countline gang sticks to the mind as chewy fudge to the teeth. With the Eurovision Song Contest approaching, the gang of 12 countlines is releasing a song, ‘Kaikissa on jotain hyvää’ (‘There is something good in everybody’), to remind everyone that diversity is richness.

Fazer’s chocolate countlines are iconic favourites of well-loved classic chocolates. With the Eurovision Song Contest approaching, Fazer Patukat, the countline gang consisting of twelve chocolate countlines, is releasing its own song. To be released at 12:12 p.m. on Friday, the 21st of April, the song is a tribute to diversity and its acceptance. Fazer Patukat had dreamt of performing its message in front of a large audience at the Eurovision Song Contest, but the contest’s rules got in the way.

“Unfortunately, entering the contest was impossible as the rules state that the participants must be human, and you can only have a maximum of six people on the stage at once”, laughs Annukka Storm, who is responsible for the Fazer Patukat brand.

Miguel Peltomaa interprets the song by Fazer Patukat

In accordance with the campaign’s theme, accessibility plays a significant role in the song’s production, which is why a sign language version of the song will also be created, interpreted by the sign language artist Miguel Peltomaa.

Fazer’s small chocolate countlines have a lot to say where diversity is concerned. Their deliciousness and bar-like appearance unite the countlines, but each countline takes pride in its distinct flavour, shape, style and personality.

“Fazer works actively to promote diversity, and Fazer Patukat is the perfect brand to advocate for the cause. The twelve different countlines illustrate how we all have our individual strengths – something good,” says Liisa Eerola, Vice President, Communications at Fazer Confectionery.

Fazer encourages its employees to be themselves

Fazer believes that diverse work communities will create the meaningful food experiences of the future.

“By bringing people with diverse backgrounds together and encouraging our employees to voice their views, we can truly create something new and innovative. We measure annually how inclusion is experienced and provide training for our employees. Diversity is also included in our sustainability goals. We are pleased that different genders are well-represented in Fazer’s personnel and that the age distribution is balanced. However, promoting diversity is a continuous effort. We can all play a part in the cause by taking daily actions.” Eerola continues.

Did you know this about Fazer’s chocolate countlines?

  • The hit: Kismet turns 50 years in 2024, and its slogan is one of the best-known in Finland: Niin hyvää ettei sanotuksi saa! (So good that you are hardly able to say it)
  • The prelude: Fazer’s first (1949) chocolate countline is named after the music term ‘Da Capo’, which means from the beginning
  • Number-one hit since 1922: Karl Fazer milk chocolate, Fazer Blue
  • The return of the old favourite: The production of Fami ended in the 1990s, but following consumers’ requests, Fazer reintroduced the chocolate bar into production in 2007
  • Newcomer: Fazer’s newest family of countlines is the Fazer Crunchy family. It was first introduced in 2019 and has charmed its way to the hearts of the Finnish consumers, being today one of the best-selling countlines. The Crunchy family include Pätkis Crunchy, Karl Fazer Crunchy, Geisha Crunchy and Karl Fazer Crunchy Black Edition
  • Artist of the year: Karl Fazer Crunchy Black Edition was awarded the title Candy of the year in the Kultainen Pippuri competition in 2022
  • World tour: Fazer’s most international countline is Geisha
  • Re-mixed: Pätkis is a delicacy, in which the good has been recycled instead of letting it go to waste! Pätkis is produced by adding into the chocolate mass small bits that are left over when Fazermint pralines are made. The bits have inspired the name of the countline, Pätkis, which means bit, snippet or stub
  • Ode to love: Susu: the crunchy Susu with chewy fudge has been included in Fazer’s offering since 1975 and since then, Susu’s slogan has remained the same: Susu maistuu niin kuin pusu, jonka parhaimmalta ystävältä saat! (Susu tastes like a kiss given by your best friend!)
