This Christmas, say it with Fazer novelties

Sweets are at the heart of Finnish Christmas celebrations. The Christmas season is filled with emotions and traditions – confectionery plays an important role in creating togetherness, especially during Christmas. Sweets are also a way of showing emotions: joy, love and caring are not only expressed with words but also with actions and small gifts. The Christmas season consists of several occasions during the later part of the year: different sweets are chosen for trick-or-treating on Halloween than for the solemn Independence Day, and the treats served at Christmas parties are different from the ones on the coffee tables at home during the Christmas holidays. The Christmas season has its own special place in the Finnish culinary tradition. The choices made over Christmas emphasise traditions and beloved favourites, and delicacies also have a prominent role in Finnish Christmas celebrations. Christmas sweets are expected to provide both the comfort and consistency of tradition, as well as some small surprises, such as a familiar flavour in a new form or a new flavour in a familiar form. Sweet treats are popular for both relaxing with family or close friends and creating the right atmosphere for festive occasions.

In addition to Christmas, the autumn is marked by different seasons, from the harvest season to Independence Day, and Halloween to New Year’s celebrations. We choose slightly different sweets for different occasions, which is why the autumn sweets offering needs to be abundant and varied.

A new favourite flavour for wrapped pralines

Karl Fazer Milk Chocolate, commonly known as Fazer Blue, has charmed Finnish gourmets with its unique and mellow taste since 1922. The new Karl Fazer Salty Toffee Crunch 250g pralines are the perfect combination of rich milk chocolate and crispy toffee flakes made with real butter. The classic flavour combination will delight as a gift or when enjoyed together with loved ones.

Take a luxurious break with the new Geisha

The mouth-watering chocolate praline Geisha Crispy Dream 270 g combines a crunchy hazelnut nougat filling with luxurious milk chocolate that is deliciously soft yet pleasantly crunchy at the same time. This chocolate praline is palm oil-free.

Seasonal packaging brings joy

Many pralines are favourites regardless of the season, but the beautiful seasonal packaging brings a new look and highlights their suitability as gifts, for example. Among Fazer’s popular wrapped pralines receiving a winter makeover are the Karl Fazer Milk Chocolate 270 g box, whose beautiful design and golden, wintery details give it a luxurious feel, and the Geisha 270 g box, which is wrapped in a beautiful winter design with three seasonal greetings. The Dumle Mix 350 g Winter Edition seasonal design has the recognisable Dumle look with delightfully wintery details. The Dumle Fudge 320 g will also get a new look around Christmas, although the design is less wintery than the Winter Edition’s Christmas-themed design.

Fazer Glögg Jellies charm with their soft yet spicy flavour

The new marmalade for Christmas 2024 is the Fazer Glögg Jellies 260 g. The warm and spicy Glögg Jellies are suitable for eating as they are or for garnishing and baking. The Glögg Jellies can also be used to create a wonderful warm drink; the recipe is included in the Fazer Glögg Jellies package. Try the drink at the Christmas party or bake the traditional Finnish Christmas pastries with Glögg Jellies instead of plum filling.
 

Marmalades are Fazer’s oldest sweets, and the story of the marmalade jellies – the round marmalade sweets known as Finlandia jellies – goes back more than a hundred years: in 1902, fruit marmalades were sent to the coronation of the future King Edward VII of England. In 1947, coronation marmalades were sent as a wedding gift to Princess Elizabeth, the future queen. In May 2023, Fazer honoured its more than 100-year-old tradition and also sent a coronation gift of Finlandia marmalades to King Charles. Although these coronation marmalades were traditional fruity flavours, Fazer’s Glögg Jellies will also bring a touch of elegant festivity to any occasion.

Fazer’s calendars lead up to Christmas

Christmas calendars have been part of the Finnish Christmas tradition for decades. The first illustrated advent calendars came to Finland in the late 1940s, and the first chocolate calendars were introduced to the market in the late 1950s. Today, there are Christmas calendars for every taste, including ones for adults.

The new calendar introduced by Fazer for Christmas in 2023, the Fazer Candy Calendar, will continue with an updated version in 2024. The Fazer Candy Calendar 402 g contains an even more versatile selection of fruit sweets, salty liquorice and lollipops from Fazer’s beloved confectionery brands: Remix, Tutti Frutti, Ässä, Pantteri, Fazer Salmiakki, Tyrkisk Peber and Dumle.

Chocolate lovers, in turn, will be delighted by the Fazer Patukka countline calendar 665 g. In 2024, Fazer’s countline calendar gets a fun new look and revamped content with the addition of the Jaffa marmalade countline 18 g.

Fazer’s Candy Calendar and Patukka countline Calendar will continue to surprise, even on Christmas Eve, as each calendar is a ticket to a big Christmas raffle, which culminates on 24 December, where the luckiest calendar buyers will win a sweet Christmas gift: products from Fazer’s most popular countline and candy brands or gift vouchers to Fazer’s online store.

Friends of the more traditional chocolate calendar will be delighted by the Karl Fazer Chocolate Calendar 200 g, which contains a total of five different praline flavours. In turn, the persistently sweet Dumle will delight you with the Dumle Christmas Calendar 210 g, which comes with three different Dumle flavours.

Fazer’s praline boxes – the perfect gift or for treating yourself

The Karl Fazer Collection praline boxes contain Fazer’s finest chocolates and offer taste experiences for even the most special occasions and discerning palates. The boxes contain 14 different flavours: old favourites from the past, exciting new flavours and beloved classics since 1908.

The contents of the Karl Fazer Collection boxes have been updated with two new delicious flavours: White Chocolate & Caramel and Liquorice Toffee. The flavours and shapes of these new pralines have been selected based on a consumer panel in the MyFazer community.

Karl Fazer Collection praline boxes are available in three different sizes, 160 g, 535 g and 800 g. The 160 g box is decorated with a new, limited-edition packaging design created by the winner of the consumer design competition.

Fazer’s selection of chocolate pralines is complemented by the already familiar favourites, Classics 280 g, launched for Christmas in 2021, as well as the Karl Fazer Moments 400 g and Karl Fazer Magical Moments 495 g boxes.

The ultimate Christmas candy blend

The new Remix X-mas +choco 400 g is an unparalleled Christmas candy mix. The large bag contains a varied mix of chocolate, seasonal flavours such as mandarin and cranberry caramel, as well as salty liquorice. The playful Suffeli Puffi puts on a Christmas sweater

Wild and spooky Halloween

While nothing would seem to undermine the status of Christmas as the absolute pinnacle of the Finnish autumn season, year after year, Halloween strengthens its position as a splash of cheerful colour in the autumn, allowing for fun and silliness during an otherwise darkening season. In celebration of Halloween, American Pastilles 175 g will feature a flashy Halloween design, and the bag’s orange and black pastilles are perfect for table decorations, as well as for garnishing pastries and desserts. The seasonal flavour of Jaffa for Christmas 2024 is Apple-Cinnamon. The Jaffa Apple-Cinnamon 300 g pastry biscuits feature a delicious apple and cinnamon filling that complements the traditional biscuit base and dark chocolate flavour pair. Jaffa biscuits are one of Finland’s favourite biscuits year after year, and the Christmas Jaffa is perfect for Christmas evenings while bringing a welcome change to the holiday season.
