FEM’s new blender plus ice shaver speeds up service, improves hygiene and makes great iced drinks

A Revolution in Iced Drinks

PLUS! Win A Revolution Blender Shaver worth £2,980!

When the sun comes out the time is right for iced drinks, which is good news for operators since iced coffee, cocktails and smoothies are highly profitable. However, one issue is ice handling. It takes space to keep ice on hand and time to load it – plus, of course, the ice needs to be handled hygienically and the blender has to be tough enough to break up the cubes.

The answer is the new Revolution Blender Shaver from Hamilton Beach, marketed in the UK by FEM, which combines a powerful 3hp blender with an ice shaver. It stores the ice in a hopper above the unit, and shaves it before dispensing it into the blender’s container for mixing. It’s fast, easily coping with 100+ iced drinks a day, and it automatically measures the right dose of ice for each drink. Plus, it takes up much less space than a separate ice store and it improves hygiene, since the operator doesn’t handle the ice while making the drinks.

The blender’s container is big enough to make up to four drinks at a time. The ice hopper holds 19 litres of ice and is double-walled, both for insulation, so the ice lasts longer, and to minimise noise when the shaver is operating.

The Revolution’s easy-to-use control panel allows staff to select recipes, serving sizes and the number of servings, for precise and consistent results. Meanwhile, the ‘3-Way’ sensor technology ensures smooth operation with a jar pad sensor, which prevents operation when the container is not in place, a hopper sensor, to prevent operation when the lid is not in place, and a drain sensor which indicates when water is backed up in the drain.

The Revolution comes with base, ice chute, two-piece hopper with lid, levelling feet and a 1.9litre polycarbonate container.

To celebrate the arrival of summer (at last!) FEM is running a competition to win a Revolution Blender Shaver, which retails at £2,980. To enter, visit the FEM blog at FEM.co.uk/blog. Closing date is June 28, 2013.
