Fennovoima’s Finnish majority ownership confirmed

February 28th, 2014 Fennovoima’s owner Voimaosakeyhtiö SF has in its general meeting, held today on 28th February, made the final decision to participate in Fennovoima nuclear power plant construction. Voimaosakeyhtiö SF commits to own more than half of the power plant. November 14, 2013 The 60 shareholders of Voimaosakeyhtiö SF have decided about their continuation in Fennovoima nuclear power plant project. The shareholders responded to the investment decision proposal given for them in early September, aiming at starting the operation of the nuclear power plant in Pyhäjoki in 2024. New CEO nominated for Fennovoima

25.10.2012 Fennovoima Board of Directors has on 24th October nominated M.Sc. (Tech.) Juha Nurmi as the CEO of Fennovoima. Mr Nurmi has been working at Fennovoima as Project Director since October 2011 and as temporary CEO since October 2012. Fennovoima received bids for nuclear power plant

January 31, 2012 Fennovoima has today received the commercial bids for its nuclear power plant unit Hanhikivi 1 (HA1) which is planned for construction in the Pyhäjoki municipality in Northern Finland. Technical bids arrived already earlier in January and their evaluation is underway. The scope of the bids covers the engineering, supply and construction of the nuclear and turbine islands. Fennovoima nuclear power plant to be constructed in Pyhäjoki

Fennovoima has chosen Pyhäjoki as the site for its nuclear power plant. Pyhäjoki municipality is located in North Ostrobothnia and the nuclear power plant will be constructed on Hanhikivi peninsula on the coast of Bothnian Bay. For the basis of the site selection, assessments were carried out during some four years. In the beginning of Fennovoima project in summer 2007, the company had almost 40 alternative sites. The number of alternatives was decreased gradually based on assessments and in December 2009 Fennovoima ended up having two alternatives, both located in Northern Finland:
