Best July Ever for First Camp
First Camp, Scandinavia's largest camping chain, achieved its best-ever revenue performance in July. Moreover, July was the first month ever where total reported turnover exceeded half a billion SEK.
July is the most important month for the Scandinavian camping industry. In July, First Camp reached a Group turnover of 516 million SEK, the highest ever. Even on a pro forma basis, meaning excluding the impact of acquisitions, revenues were higher than both July 2023 and the previous peak year of 2022. It is particularly gratifying to see that the growth from 2023 is mainly driven by more overnight stays, which indicates that interest in camping continues to rise in Scandinavia.
"The camping industry has historically shown strong growth, and this excellent revenue outcome for us in July confirms that, even in a situation where the economic conditions for many households remain strained due to high interest costs and past high inflation. We also see that both investments in our product and new sales and marketing efforts are paying off well. Additionally, our loyalty program, First Camp Club, is reaching new record levels in terms of membership. All employees across the entire First Camp Group contribute to these excellent results, and I want to thank all colleagues and, of course, all our guests. Now we begin to summarize the highlights and lessons from the summer. We never stand still but continue to develop what we do," says First Camp’s CEO, Johan Söör.
The top 5 destinations within First Camp with the strongest revenue growth in July 2024 compared to 2023 were:
- First Camp Hökensås – Tidaholm: +52%
- First Camp City – Stockholm: +32%
- First Camp City – Strömstad: +22%
- First Camp Holbæk Fjord – Sjælland: +22%
- First Camp Sjöstugan – Älmhult: +21%
The figures above apply to the entire First Camp Group, including the bond structure in First Camp and its sister companies.
