Discover new departments and features in the Getinge Virtual Hospital
Getinge is now expanding its virtual hospital with a Hybrid operating room (OR); a place that goes beyond medical boundaries by combining an OR with a surgical table as the centerpiece with one or more imaging systems. In addition, the virtual hospital is now available in more languages and gives visitors quick access to training information.
Since opening up its virtual hospital earlier this year, an addition to the physical Experience Centers where visitors can interact with products and solutions, Getinge has continued to invest in new departments and features to simulate a state-of-the-art environment for visitors located anywhere.
“We are now opening up the Hybrid OR of Getinge Virtual Hospital. The beauty of a Hybrid OR is, clinicians can diagnose, treat under image-guidance and check the result in a single procedure. Besides the clinical benefits, the flexibility of a Hybrid OR also helps prevent the financial consequences of under-utilization,” says Thomas Reichenbach, Director Global Portfolio Management OR Tables at Getinge. “We have installed more than 1,500 Hybrid ORs worldwide and by offering online visitors interaction with this groundbreaking solution we want to share the benefits and value with a bigger audience.”
In this Hybrid OR, an angiography system has been combined with Getinge’s OR equipment, all the way from modular room systems to software solutions, surgical lights and the operating table, to mention a few.
“The virtual hospital shows more than just individual products and services, but also how they work together for a comprehensive solution,” explains Thomas.
When walking around in the virtual hospital interacting with the solutions, more information will show up so that visitors can easier dig into the details. There are links leading to web product pages, direct access to product brochures, videos and in-use images.
“A new feature added is links leading to Getinge Academy pages, where it’s possible to sign up for training and webinars. In the future we will expand the training concept even more, by offering virtual reality training directly inside this space”, tells Anders Buch, Senior Director Global Marketing Communication at Getinge.
The virtual hospital is now available in several languages; Swedish, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil) and Chinese with more local versions to come.
“Throughout 2022 we will add more rooms to the virtual hospital such as a cardiac OR, a general OR, a central sterile supply department (CSSD) and an entire intensive care unit” Anders adds. “In addition, we will also create new ways to consume the virtual hospital via virtual reality (VR) headsets and on standard Windows PC’s – more exciting news will follow.”
