Getinge and Contego Medical Jointly Announce European Distributor Agreement

Getinge, a global provider of innovative medical technology solutions announce today that it has entered into a partnership with Contego Medical, a US-based medical device company developing Integrated Embolic Protection (IEP™) technologies for application in cardiovascular interventions. Getinge will distribute Contego’s products in Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Scandinavia, with the potential to expand into other territories.
Getinge, a leading solutions provider for the treatment of vascular disease, will distribute the Paladin® Carotid Post-Dilation Balloon System with Integrated Embolic Protection and Vanguard IEPTM Peripheral Balloon Angioplasty System with Integrated Embolic Protection. Contego Medical's novel embolic protection devices coupling an angioplasty balloon with an integrated distal filter on the same catheter, enables more patients to benefit from embolic protection as compared to currently available methods.
