For the second time, as World Finance Magazine awards businesses across the world that are taking action to tackle climate change, Getinge was named winner in the category Most Sustainable Company in the Life Science Industry.
As World Finance Magazine announced this year’s winners of their sustainability award, Getinge was recognized for its alignment with the Paris Agreement, UN Global Compact, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The medtech company was named winner in the category Most Sustainable Company in the Life Science Industry with the following motivation:
The judging panel took a close look at Getinge's ambitious 2019 - 2024 sustainability program, aiming to reduce energy consumption, emissions, waste aligned with the Science-Based Target Initiatives, increase customer satisfaction and employee engagement, support the Pratham project among other initiatives. Last but not least points for Getinge to stand out from the competitors for its resilient business operation during the pandemic.
“Sustainability is one of our top priorities and at the core of everything we do. Last year we announced the intention to become a CO₂ neutral company by 2025, which supports our objective to contribute to sustainable health care, environmentally as well as socially. We are honored to receive this award,” says Magnus Lundbäck, Executive Vice President Human Resources & Sustainability at Getinge.
