Getinge Hospital Engineering Forum - Focus on Improving Healthcare
Getinge announces the second edition of the Getinge Hospital Engineering Forum which took place at the Getinge Academy in Rastatt, Germany (26-27 October 2016). On day one, international speakers shared their insights and experience through presentations and case studies on image guided surgery and automation in healthcare. ‘The hospital of the future but always with the patient in mind’ was the focus for day two. This format was interactive and enabled participants to put questions to the speakers throughout both days. Over 160 hospital planners, managers and architects, from across Europe, Middle East & Africa attended and had the opportunity to network with scientific experts and medical device industry.
This successful event was chaired by Prof. Guy-Bernard Cadière, Head of the Digestive Surgery Department of CHU Saint-Pierre in Brussels, Belgium and Director and Founder of the European School of Laparoscopic Surgery and Mr. Antoine Agathon, Chief Operating Officer of the Institute of Image Guided Surgery of Strasbourg (IHU Strasbourg).
"I was invited by Getinge to attend this forum in order to present on minimally invasive surgery and provide the point of view of the surgeon. With the revolution of minimally invasive surgery, the set-up of the hospital has changed becoming more complex and this has an impact in terms of hospital engineering and development. It is important that medical technology companies such as Getinge, hospital architects and planners consider the surgeon’s needs when looking at hospitals in the future." said Prof. Guy-Bernard Cadière.
"It was inspirational and beneficial to hear the cutting edge technology presentations and to have the opportunity to meet speakers from around the world." said Mieszko B Niedzwiecki, AIA, SARP, Partner, N+Parametric Design.
