Today, Getinge is introducing the new Maquet Ezea. Focusing on features that are essential for operating room (OR) staff, the versatile surgical light is easy to use, built to last and designed to align with evolving risk management standards.

“We are reinforcing our position in the value segment for surgical lights by taking a step forward in areas that are important for the users. Our objective is to furnish customers with a user-friendly surgical light that seamlessly integrates Getinge expertise, enabling them to concentrate on their care tasks with absolute peace of mind,” says Sophie Santiago, Surgical Lights Product Manager.

Maquet Ezea is suitable for a wide range of environments, including general operating rooms, emergency departments, outpatient treatment rooms, delivery rooms, labs, and even intensive care units.

“The light is especially suitable for minor procedures where surgical teams just want to switch on the device and focus on the patient, thanks to automatic settings,” says Sophie.

Looking closer at details, Maquet Ezea comes in a round shape as well as an ultra-thin and lightweight light head that makes it easy to maneuver and position as well as fixed settings to streamline operations.

Maquet Ezea is fully compliant with the new IEC 60601-2-41 Ed. 3.0 standard. The 160,000 lux safety limit is rigorously upheld and never surpassed, regardless of the distance of positioning.

The surgical team can choose between fixed or adjustable color temperatures, offering two choices of warm and cool white light to suit individual preferences.

To provide a smooth and adapted illumination range, each dimming step is seen by human eyes with the same amount of light difference to preserve surgeon’s eyes.

The engineering approach has been frugal, with simplified electronics and a reduced number of parts in the light head, which brings robustness and efficiency with eco-design always in mind.

“To support both our customers’ and our own sustainability efforts, Maquet Ezea features lightweight, versatile, durable, and recyclable components as well as low energy LED,” Sophie says.
