Getinge’s 2022 Sustainability Report presents how the company is taking important steps to reach the long- and short-term sustainability targets. In 2022, Getinge submitted its environmental targets for validation to the Science Based Target initiative, and decreased the CO2 emissions by 48% in 2022 compared to 2021, while continuing to supporting customers and society at large.

As a global medtech company, Getinge’s impact is inherently a social one - to help improve and save people’s lives. The company relies on innovation, science and technology to address some of society’s most challenging healthcare issues such as heart-lung diseases and healthcare acquired infections. A growing and ageing population is putting increased pressure on financial, human and natural resources in healthcare and the medtech industry.

“Sustainability is not a separate activity,” says Anna Romberg, Executive Vice President Sustainability, Legal & Compliance at Getinge. “Being a medtech company, it is ingrained in everything we do. Our passion for life extends beyond the immediate impact of our products and we strive to be an agent of positive change, both for the people in this world and for the planet itself.”

Getinge’s Sustainability Report is focused on material topics around the four strategic pillars of the company’s sustainability efforts for 2022: Quality culture, Passionate employees, Business ethics and Responsible leadership and Environmental and social engagement.

Some key highlights of Getinge’s sustainability work 2022 are:
