Changes in Gjensidige's Group management

Several executive vice presidents in Gjensidige Forsikring ASA will be assigned new roles in the Group management from the turn of the year. A new Technology and development unit will be established at the same time. The changes are intended to boost implementation of the Group's strategy for profitable growth and customer orientation.

 - Dynamic organisational development and greater mobility at all levels of the company are important if we are to deliver on our ambitious targets going forward, says CEO Helge Leiro Baastad.

Technology and development will be headed by Executive Vice President Kaare S Østgaard, who has been responsible for Gjensidige's Claims and IT department since 2011. The new unit will be responsible for the development and improvement of work and business processes and for the implementation of best practice across departments in the Group.

Other changes are as follows:

  • Executive Vice President Sigurd Austin will assume responsibility for Claims. Austin has previous experience from the Private segment and has been in charge of the Commercial segment since 2011.
  • Executive Vice President Mats C Gottschalk will assume responsibility for the Commercial segment. Gottschalk has been responsible for strategy and M&A since 2011.
  • Executive Vice President Kim Rud-Petersen will continue as head of the Nordic segment. The commercial portfolio in Sweden will become part of this segment.
  • Executive Vice President Kaare S Østgaard will assume responsibility of the Baltic segment.
  • Executive Vice President Catharina Hellerud will continue as CFO and will also assume responsibility for strategy and M&A. The Legal department will at the same time be transferred from Hellerud's area of responsibility to Group Staff and General Services, which will continue to be led by Executive Vice President Jørgen Ringdal.

With effect from 1 January 2015, Gjensidige's Group management will comprise:

  • Martin Danielsen, EVP Product and price
  • Cecilie Ditlev-Simonsen, EVP Brand Management, communications and marketing
  • Mats C Gottschalk, EVP Commercial
  • Hans Hanevold, EVP Private (acting EVP while Hege Yli Melhus Ask is on maternity leave)
  • Catharina Hellerud, CFO
  • Jørgen Ringdal, EVP Group Staff and General Services
  • Kim Rud-Petersen, EVP Nordic
  • Kaare Østgaard, EVP Technology and development, and the Baltic segment
