Halton Invests Over 3 Million Euros to Establish New Manufacturing Facility in Anderson, South Carolina, USA
Lahti, Finland, July 23, 2024 – Halton Group, a family-owned company specializing in indoor air products and solutions, announces an investment in a new manufacturing facility in Anderson, South Carolina, USA. This new facility will serve Halton’s clients in the Marine, Energy, and Infrastructure sectors across the Americas, with production expected to start in the autumn of 2024.
According to Sami Piirainen, Halton Marine’s Managing Director, the decision to establish the Anderson facility reflects Halton’s commitment to serving customers both globally and locally. With over 30 years of presence in the USA and existing facilities in Kentucky employing already 240 people, Halton's investment in Anderson will create additional job opportunities within the region.
Founded in 1969 in Finland, Halton Group operates in nearly 40 countries globally. The Anderson facility marks its 15th manufacturing unit, demonstrating the company’s strategic expansion into key markets.
Piirainen noted, “Establishing a manufacturing facility in North America aligns with our growth strategy, especially for the green transition, supporting our customers’ needs for local supplies and local content. We have identified a great growth potential across all our segments in the Americas.”
After evaluating several options, Anderson was chosen due to its dynamic business environment and the availability of skilled labor.
Piirainen noted also, “Our team worked closely with the state of South Carolina, the county of Anderson, and the Upstate Alliance business development team. Their collective efforts and cooperation were instrumental in determining the optimal location for our investment.”
Initially, the Anderson facility will focus on manufacturing products for Marine, Energy, and Infrastructure applications. Operations are expected to commence in the autumn of 2024.
